Part II: Beyond the Barrier Reef – the Outer Solar System
Wednesdays at 6.45pm: 28th May, 11th June & 18th June
Between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter lies the asteroid belt containing dwarf planet Ceres, a handful of proto-planets and billions of differing sized rocks and debris left over from the formation of the solar system, held in place by the strong gravitational pull of Jupiter. Beyond this barrier reef lie the big players, the giant gas planets of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, the planets of the outer solar system. In these second three sessions we explore the role of the outer planets in personal charts, in their cycles and in terms of their broader influences upon society.

Jupiter & Saturn
The gas giants Jupiter and Saturn, the largest planets in our solar system and considered to be the Social Planets (those of Society), are the furthest bodies in our Solar System viewable with the naked eye and say much about the nature of our family backgrounds and inherited beliefs.
Traversing across our skies in their approximately 12 and 29 year cycles respectively, these cycles represent where we reach out to embrace more of the outside world and make it our own while slowly developing measured maturity and increasing responsibilities for the life that we lead, along with the restrictions that we might encounter both externally and internally.
We also look at the longer, more regulated retrograde motions of these outer planets and how the Jupiter/Saturn 20-year dual cycle heralds changes in both society’s and our own lives’ structures and hierarchies.
