Part II: Beyond the Barrier Reef – the Outer Solar System
Wednesdays at 6.45pm: 28th May, 11th June & 18th June
Between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter lies the asteroid belt containing dwarf planet Ceres, a handful of proto-planets and billions of differing sized rocks and debris left over from the formation of the solar system, held in place by the strong gravitational pull of Jupiter. Beyond this barrier reef lie the big players, the giant gas planets of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, the planets of the outer solar system. In these second three sessions we explore the role of the outer planets in personal charts, in their cycles and in terms of their broader influences upon society.

Uranus & Neptune
Ice giants Uranus and Neptune were the first and subsequently second outer planets discovered by man to be orbiting beyond the naked eye visibility of the Saturnian boundaries of the hitherto known solar system, their longer 84 and 165 year cycles respectively lending the quality of generational planets, their ingress from one sign to the next signifying step changes in social evolution, technologies, culture and consciousness.
Uranus lies on the margins of the visible and the non-visible, of the conscious and the unconscious, alongside his planetary neighbour and mythological son, traditional Saturn, and is playing an increasingly prominent role in our technologically-enabled 24/7 lives. How personal then is Uranus now becoming in our charts, in the projection of our uniqueness and individuality and in the penetrating insights accompanying that process.
Far-flung Neptune, that deep mysterious Sea World of our solar system, fuels our imaginations with utopian vistas of what might exist beyond the physical realities of this incarnation, opening up new dimensions of spiritual awareness and an enfolding compassion for the human condition. Are we then more enabled in this physical lifetime by an untethered faith in the journeying of the soul?
